We invite you to get to know Rosa in her own words….

What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years?

I have learned that defining a vision is the first step to achieving one’s heart’s desires.

What is your favorite part about Esteem?

My favorite part is creating a virtual space where my clients can feel safe and comfortable from the comfort of their desired location. On a personal note, it allows me to practice what I preach regarding the importance of self-care, work-life balance, and remaining active in my continuing education.

Tell me how you first got involved in Social Work . . .

My journey into clinical social work began with a deep curiosity about people’s inner worlds and a desire to understand what helps us heal and grow. After completing my master’s degree in social work, I trained in evidence-based therapies and started working with families, couples, and adults navigating anxiety, self-doubt, relational challenges, and complex life transitions.

What do you like most about your job?

I connect with my clients by witnessing how they take hold of the steering wheel and drive their lives in their desired direction.

How would you describe your therapeutic style?

Client-Centered, integrative, and proactive.

What do you feel makes you unique as a therapist?

My ability to connect with others, extensive experience, and deep belief in our ability to rewrite our story.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

I was a salsa dancer in my teens and performed at various venues with my dance team. One of my favorite performances was at The Art of Living’s World Culture Festival in Bangalore, India, celebrating the organization’s 25th anniversary.

Motto or personal mantra?

My happy place is the present moment.

What would you tell someone considering seeking counseling for the first time?

You are brave.

If you were an animal, what would you be? And why?

I would be part owl and part otter, combining wisdom and intuition with playfulness and spontaneity, while staying grounded in the structure I need to thrive.
